Hello,
Quote of the month:
"I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. It seems to infuse strength into my limbs, and ideas into my brain. Life seems to go on without effort, when I am filled with music." --George Eliot
ON THE AIR
I love music on the radio. It's a thrill to know your own music is getting airplay somewhere somehow. Tracks from Grateful are currently in rotation on Williamsport's ChiliTech.FM and Australia's ISON FM. Time for me to head down for some shrimp on the barby.
Thanks to everyone who requested "Drive a Nail" and "Sleeping Giant" on Radio Crystal Blue this season. RCB is one of the oldest web stations in history, and RCB Commander, Dan Herman, is a trueblood in the Brooklyn music scene.
"Journalistic Girl" is the most requested tune on Last.FM, a web station that allows you to customize a playlist &/or download a group of tunes. It's pretty cool! Here's my "program": http://www.last.fm/music/Johnny+J+Blair.
AND ON THAT NOTE...
As I travel around and perform, it amazes me how many fascinating people I get to meet. I have learned not to take anything or anyone for granted, as the next person I meet might be the messenger of a great idea, a kind word or a helping hand. As a performer, it's easy to get preoccupied with the gear, the lighting, the sound, the merchandise table...but ultimately it's about the audience. I am constantly reminded that I can't do this without them, and my life is enriched by what they bring to the table.
Keep those cards and letters coming. Play skillfully with a loud noise (Psalms 33:3). JJB
