“Audacity can be a powerful engine for achievement, but hubris leads nowhere, at least nowhere you want to go.”
—Javier Gabriel (Mexican-American composer, 1898-1980)
November was so busy, so I again didn’t get around to cranking out this e-newsletter. Thanks to everyone who came to my solo shows in December and January, as well as the three nights with the Davy Jones Band in Las Vegas… it’s always great to meet new people and make new friends.
On the Air
Four new videos have been posted on my You Tube channel: “Dancin’ in the Aisles,” a rockabilly piano instrumental, a live cover of Donovan’s “Jennifer Juniper” with Mike Kanski (The Cleverly Brothers), “Precious Gem, The Movie” (a preview from my next album), and a jumpin’ live cover of Sly and The Family Stone’s “Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin).” Also tagged, a lively performance of “Somebody Loves You (Like Dino Said)” at MadHouse Coffee in California (10/7/10), with Erik Nielsen on drums (thanks to Kyoko Hosokawa for posting it)… and check us out doing “Sugar Sugar” with “the real deal,” Ron Dante. Thanks to Don Campau and No Pigeonholes radio (a global podcast) for playlisting “Drive a Nail” …and thanks to Dennis Holseybrook and Scrub Radio for keeping my tracks on the air!
In the Studio
Just when I announced that the mixes for my next album were done, I was compelled to go back in and remix the drums and bass on two songs—it’s gotta be right! Preview mixes of my upcoming I Like the Street album can be heard on my Facebook musician page.
And on that note…
Now it’s your turn to tell me how you’re doing… keep those cards and letters coming. Play skillfully with a loud noise (Psalms 33:3)!
